Alma Mater Europaea – Academy of Dance and the International Dance Organization (IDO) have taken an important step toward closer cooperation between higher education and the international dance community by signing a partnership agreement.
As part of the new collaboration, the IDO Dance Trainer micro-credential will be launched, combining academic knowledge, pedagogical competences, and experience from international dance practice.
The ceremonial signing of the partnership agreement marks the beginning of a new chapter of cooperation between Alma Mater Europaea – Dance Academy and the International Dance Organization (IDO), one of the largest international dance organizations.
At the heart of the collaboration is the new IDO Dance Trainer micro-credential, intended for dance educators, trainers, and other professionals who wish to further develop their knowledge and competences in an internationally oriented educational environment.
The program will enable participants to acquire contemporary professional knowledge, pedagogical competences, and practical skills under the auspices of an accredited higher education institution and in cooperation with international IDO experts. In this way, two important worlds are being connected – academic education on the one hand, and extensive experience and knowledge of the international dance scene on the other.
The micro-credential comprises 9 ECTS, or 270 hours of study workload. It is designed to offer participants comprehensive professional advancement and knowledge that they can directly apply in their teaching and coaching work.
The partnership between Alma Mater Europaea and IDO, however, goes beyond the implementation of a single educational program. Its goal is the long-term integration of academic knowledge and dance practice, the strengthening of the quality of professional education, and the creation of new opportunities for international networking and the development of dance professionals.
The IDO Dance Trainer thus represents a new step in the development of dance education, in which academic standards meet international experience and practice – and knowledge becomes the link between dance professionals around the world.
