The first UNI-SI Festival of Slovenian universities, which took place on January 16 and 17, 2026 at the Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre in Ljubljana, made a significant mark on the Slovenian higher education landscape.
The event brought together all eight Slovenian universities in one place for the first time and offered young people a comprehensive, transparent, and modern insight into study opportunities. Among the prominent and active co-creators of the festival was also Univerza Alma Mater Europaea, which, with its international orientation, interdisciplinarity, and value-based approach, significantly shapes the future of higher education in Slovenia.
At the festival, Univerza Alma Mater Europaea presented its study programs and development vision, which is based on connecting scientific excellence, ethics, and practical knowledge. Visitors could learn about programs in the fields of health, social sciences, humanities, arts, and other interdisciplinary fields, which address contemporary social challenges and prepare students for an active role in a rapidly changing world.
Univerza Alma Mater Europaea paid special attention to personal contact with high school students, counseling, and presenting study as a holistic experience. Students and university representatives presented to young people first-hand the study process, opportunities for research work, integration into the international academic environment, and a rich extracurricular life that fosters personal and professional development.
The UNI-SI Festival enabled high school students to review more than 400 study programs, categorized into seven thematic areas, which made orientation and decision-making easier for young people. For Univerza Alma Mater Europaea, the event was an opportunity to present, within a broader national framework, its distinctive identity as a university that places the student at the center, encourages critical thinking, and builds bridges between science, society, and practice.
The event was held under the honorary patronage of the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr. Nataša Pirc Musar, and in the presence of the leadership of all Slovenian universities and representatives of the Ministry of Higher Education. The presence of the leadership of Univerza Alma Mater Europaea and active participation in the festival activities confirm its role as an important anda0recognizable partner in the Slovenian and international higher education landscape.
According to the organizers' estimates, around 10,000 visitors attended the festival, which confirms the strong interest of young people in high-quality and contemporary study paths. Even after the festival, Univerza Alma Mater Europaea remains accessible to prospective students through online and social channels, where it offers up-to-date information on study programs, application procedures, and opportunities to join the academic community.
By participating in the first UNI-SI Festival of Slovenian Universities, Univerza Alma Mater Europaea further strengthens its role as a university that thinks globally, acts responsibly, and educates for the future.
