At the end of his fifth term, the mayor of the Municipality of Lenart, MSc Janez Kramberger, invited the rector of Alma Mater Europaea, Prof. Dr. Ludvik Toplak, to a meeting in Zavrh. The meeting was intended to strengthen ties between the academic and local communities and to exchange views on the importance of knowledge, cooperation, and the development of the Slovene Hills.
The mayor welcomed the guests with a glass of Mayor’s wine, and the gathering continued with a visit to Maister Tower. In conversation, they touched on the development of the local area, the role of educational institutions, and the importance of cooperation in creating new development opportunities.
The meeting was also attended, together with his colleagues, by the Rector of the University of Maribor, Prof. Dr. Dejan Korošak, which gave the meeting a broader academic dimension as well.
The visit to Maister Tower, dedicated to General Rudolf Maister, added a symbolic note to the meeting. From the viewpoint, the view stretches far beyond the Slovene Hills, which the mayor summed up with the words: “From here, one can see far.”
