Primarius assist. prof. dr. Jernej Završnik, MD, Ph.D. spec. ped. completed his doctoral studies in the field of Biomedical Sciences at the Medical Faculty of the University of Maribor, where he was also elected to the habilitation title of assistant professor in the field of Pediatrics. He completed his high school education in Sioux City, Iowa, and his undergraduate medical education and master's degree in medical sciences at the Medical Faculty of the University of Zagreb. His research interest is primarily focused on pediatric cardiology and preventive medicine. He is very active in many national and international societies and associations, and he was also the president of the assembly of the Medical Chamber of Slovenia. He is currently the President of the Mediation Council at the Medical Chamber of Slovenia. He has published over 200 scientific and professional articles, in the last two years he has published 11 scientific articles, 7 of which have been published in journals with a high impact factor. He has also actively participated in many national and international conferences, as a lecturer, moderator and organizer. He is currently the director of the Community Healthcare Center dr. Adolf Drolc Maribor and is 10% also employed at Alma Mater Europaea - ECM, and 7.5% within the program research group P1-0403.
